Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

This movie was epic, in the traditional sense of the word.  The sheer amount of time they covered was huge.  Starting with Abe as a young boy, and ending as an old man.

Effects:
The special effects in this movie were good.  There were some action scenes where the characters were CG, and it was obvious, but didn't take away from the scene for me.  The fight scenes were very entertaining, think 300 style, alternating fast and slow motion.

Story:
I'm a sucker for alternate past stories.  Captain America was one of my favorite recent movies.  So I personally loved the story and how they tied actual events in and explained them with the battle against the vampires.  The movie felt kind of rushed, but if they took time fully developing all the characters, the movie would have been a trilogy, and honestly pretty boring.  They spent just enough time on the characters so you can piece together a history and understand them enough.

Ending:
The ending was good, it didn't go exactly how I expected it to, but it was a good ending.

Final thoughts:
Go into this movie light hearted, it is a fun  movie.  Yes, it is violent, and at time absurd.  Basically, this movie was everything I wanted it to be and more.

Update:
This movie is based on a book with the same name:

I would definitely check out the book, and rent the movie before you buy it.
